Web Design
Yep, I can do Web design. I specialize in two things -- making affordable websites, and listening to what the customer wants and needs. I can even do a little Flash (that's where stuff moves around) and CMS (where the customer can change their own site) if need be.
Here are some sites I've designed recently for you to poke at if you want:
I've also done sites for a few local bands here in Sioux City (most of which I played bass for at one point or another) and a few other charities, but I figure the sites I've listed above will give you an idea of what I can do...
The Cost...
Charging money for web sites is difficult. No one really knows how much work it's gonna be until you get knee deep... But here's a rule-of-thumb set of guidelines:
- First page: $175
- Additional pages: $50 each
- Maintenance: $100/year for domain name registration, server space, general piddling around
- $45/hour for major edits (rewrites, etc.)
- Forms (you know, where you fill stuff out and hit "submit" and it magically sends the info to the right person) are harder than they look, unfortunately, and are $50 each. It's a one-time charge, so it's usually worth the cost.
- I can do some Flash, too. The price depends on how tricky you wanna get, but a simple Flash element will run about $50.
You can see a detailed list of how it all works in our brochure.
If you want me to take pictures for your site, that costs a bit, but not enough to frighten you.
Generally, you're looking at between $350 and $750, on average. This includes setting up some custom e-mail addresses (within reason), and stuff like that. I know this probably sounds expensive, but if you look around, you'll find that it's actually pretty reasonable. I may have to charge a little bit to set up the server space and domain name, but that's usually covered in the "Maintenance" aspect unless something strange happens. Please note: the more organized the information is when you give it to me, and the more you have already written, the less it will cost.
As always, the initial consultation is free, but I do charge a consulting fee for any subsequent meetings.
